Industrial property protection representatives familiarized with draft laws harmonized with EU standards
Sarajevo, October 23, 2023 - Expert workshop for industrial property protection representatives registered with the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held on October 23, 2023 in Sarajevo, with the aim of familiarizing representatives with the novelties in the draft laws from the field of industrial property harmonized with EU standards.
Workshop was held within the framework of the project "EU support for intellectual property rights in BiH", financed by the European Union, in cooperation with the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH.
"Two years of intensive cooperation with the Institute resulted in the drafting of completely new or amendments to existing laws in the field of industrial property that are harmonized with the regulations of the European Union", said the team leader of the project "EU support for intellectual property rights in BiH" Miodrag Marković and added that the expert workshop was an opportunity to discuss everything done so far and receive important comments from representatives for the protection of industrial property, who are expert and the community that is most interested in these regulations.
European Union finances the Project to help Bosnia and Herzegovina harmonize legislation with the European legal acquis, improve the competitiveness and innovation of the economy in BiH, by providing necessary expertise and support to the Institute for Intellectual Property and creative industries in BiH.
This is the fourth in a series of events that the Project, in cooperation with the Institute, has held in the past period for representatives of various interest groups. Seminars in Sarajevo and Banja Luka were held free of charge for business entities, business support organizations, as well as all those who are professionally interested in this issue. The recently held seminar in Neum, entitled "Role of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina in harmonizing intellectual property regulations with the European legal acquis ", brought together representatives and delegates of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. Future seminars, planned until the end of the year, are intended for institutions responsible for the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
