Mostar: Presentation of the software platform for entering and exchanging data on the enforcement of intellectual property rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina held
Mostar, February 21, 2024 - Presentation of the software platform for entering and exchanging data on the enforcement of intellectual property rights (PERP - Portal for electronic data exchange) in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held today in the building of joint institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Mostar.
Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the European Union through the project "EU support for intellectual property rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina" and in cooperation with institutions competent in the field of acquisition and enforcement of intellectual property rights in BiH, has been working on the development of the software platform for two years, which is now in its final phase.
Institute has organized online presentations of the software on several occasions, and the goal of today's presentation was to gather and connect all involved contact persons in the institutions, representatives of the company ORKA d.o.o. Sarajevo, which is in charge of implementation, and people from the Institute who are engaged as coordinators.
Josip Merdžo, director of the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina, gave a welcome speech to the participants of the meeting, after which key functionalities and advantages of the platform, which enables safe communication of all involved parties with the aim of effective enforcement of intellectual property rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina, were presented.
The development of the platform was supported by the project "EU support for intellectual property rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina", which is financed by the European Union. The project works on building the capacity of BiH institutions responsible for the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights through improving cooperation between them, amending regulations related to intellectual property and their further harmonization with the European legal acquis, as well as raising awareness of intellectual property among the general public.
