AMUS continues to operate in accordance with the Law on the Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights

 

Mostar, August 28, 2019 - After the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH issued a Decision on conditional revocation of license for collective management of musical works authors' rights from the Association of Composers - Music Makers (AMUS) on August 27, 2019, in accordance with the provisions of the Law, AMUS continues to operate as the only organization with authorization-license to perform collective management of composers and music-makers copyrights.

Rights users are under an obligation to pay copyright fees to AMUS, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable contracts, and AMUS is legally obliged to distribute collected funds to authors.

If, within the next 12 months, AMUS does not remedy the deficiencies identified during the exercise of supervision, or commits a new breach that would be the basis for revocation of the license, the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH will, in accordance with the Law, issue a final decision on the revocation of license for collective management of musical works authors' rights.
