Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH started using HDBPI
Mostar, October 1, 2019 - As of September 30, 2019, the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina has started using the list of terms from the Harmonized Database of Product Indications (HDBPI) in DesignClass.
In addition to the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH, the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) and the national intellectual property offices of Georgia, Moldova, Northern Macedonia and Serbia also begun to use the HDBPI.
These are the first six intellectual property offices outside the European Union (EU) to use terms from the HDBPI, which is one of the expected outcomes of a strategic project of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) entitled "Extension of Tools". This project aims at extending the reach of tools from the European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN) beyond the EU for the benefit of global users.
By expanding HDBPI's reach to six offices, DesignClass now offers users the opportunity to search and translate more than 12,000 harmonized concepts into 27 languages from 30 intellectual property offices, EUIPO informed.
