EPO launches new Espacenet
On 19/11/2019, the European Patent Office (EPO) has installed new Espacenet, an upgraded version of the non-commercial patent documentation database available on the EPO website.
Enhanced capabilities of the new Espacenet portal will make it even easier for users to conduct patent searches and access over 110 million patent documents from all over the world free-of-charge.
New Espacenet offers:
- easier placement of search queries;
- more comprehensive and accurate list of results;
- conceptual filtering of results;
- improved overview of the legal status of patents.
Espacenet enables users to view existing technologies, obtain information on the legal status of a patent, promotes awareness of patent protection, and supports innovation through the acquisition of initial information from the field of patents.
