Decision made to form an interagency body for intellectual property

 

SARAJEVO, February 6, 2020 - After adopting the Strategy for the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in BiH 2018-2020, the BiH Council of Ministers has decided to establish an Interagency Co-operation Body for the Acquisition and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In this way, preconditions are created for the start of work of the interagency body, which, as a coordinator, should strengthen the cooperation of institutions at all levels of authorities in BiH competent for the enforcement of intellectual property rights, and with the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH as an institution competent for performing professional and administrative tasks in this area, the BiH Council of Ministers announced.

The interagency body will base its work on the measures and recommendations given in the Development Strategy of the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH, as well as in the Strategy for the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in BiH, which is the basis for defining and establishing a complete and effective system of enforcement of intellectual property rights in accordance with the requirements of accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the European Union (EU).
