Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) received the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Geneva, October 6, 2021 - As part of the regular 62nd General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization, WIPO Director General Daren Tang received the Director of the BiH Institute for Intellectual Property Josip Merdžo and the Head of the BiH Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, Ambassador Nermina Kapetanović.
Director Merdžo thanked Mr. Tang for the cooperation and assistance provided by WIPO to Bosnia and Herzegovina so far, especially through the assistance in the development of the Intellectual Property Strategy for BiH prepared by the WIPO expert team. The following activities have been defined that will be jointly implemented in cooperation between WIPO and the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH related to assistance to small and medium enterprises in regulating issues related to intellectual property, as well as analysis of the contribution of creative industries to the BiH economy.
On this occasion, Mr. Merdžo presented General Director Tang with two bottles of Herzegovinian wines, žilavka and blatina, with an invitation to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director General of WIPO Hasan Kleib, the Deputy Director of the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH Ljubica Kozić, and the Minister-Advisor at the Permanent Mission of BiH to the UN in Geneva Nijaz Čardaklija.
