WIPO Photography Prize for Indigenous Peoples and Local Community Youth

 

Mostar, December 17, 2021 - Applications for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) competition for indigenous peoples and local communities’ youth for the best photographs on climate change and climate protection are under way.

Through this activity, WIPO aims to celebrate and make widely known the creativity of Indigenous and local community youth, as well as raise their awareness on how copyright can be used to protect their creativity expressed in the photographs.

The theme of the WIPO Photography Prize is Climate Change and Climate Action: Mother Earth through our Lenses. Participation is meant to encourage indigenous and local community youth to express themselves on this issue of immense global significance.

Winners will receive a variety of awards, including photographic equipment and related software licenses, totalling up to $ 3,500 for first place, $ 2,500 for second place and $ 1,500 for third place.

Other awards will include photography-related training and mentoring opportunities through WIPO partners.

The deadline for submission of works is January 22, 2022.
