Sarajevo: Conference “Technology Dissemination System and Role of Intellectual Property Rights”
Sarajevo, July 1, 2015 – Conference titled “Technology Dissemination System and Role of Intellectual Property Rights” will be held tomorrow, July 2nd, in Sarajevo, at the „Hollywood" hotel, address Dr. Mustafe Pintola 23, llidža.
This conference is organized by the project “Capacity Building of the Institute for Intellectual Property through the Establishment of Information-Educational Centres (IECs) of the Institute”, financed by the European Union (EU).
“Specialists from the community of organisations who are considered to be the facilitators of innovation and transfer of technology should be aware of the importance, functions and role of the intellectual and industrial property in innovation and transfer of technology; the interconnection between these two concepts; and how to use them as concrete tools”, reads the invitation letter by the organizers.
The objective of the conference is to gather all stakeholders (including, among others, representatives of innovation centres, SMEs and clusters, and universities) and other beneficiaries at one location. Particular attention will be given to the role of information-educational centres in this process and a clear set of activities on how the IECs can support the technology dissemination will be presented.
The best international speakers about the technology dissemination system and IPR involvement will give a presentation at the conference: Vladimir Yossifov, former director in the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO); professor Habip Asan, who will present the latest developments in the technology transfer system in Turkey and a new platform developed and launched by the Turkish Patent Institute; Johannes Werner from the Austrian Patent Office will share information on the innovative services developed by the Austrian Patent Office to strengthen the technology transfer/dissemination system. Current state in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be presented by the representatives of parties involved in the technology dissemination system, reads the invitation letter.
