EUIPO congratulates BiH’s accession to Designview
Mostar, July 7, 2017 – Executive director of the European Union’s Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) António Campinos sent a congratulatory letter on the occasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to Designview system to the director of the BiH Institute for Intellectual Property Josip Merdžo.
In his letter, executive director Campinos, among other things, writes the following:
“It is with great pleasure that I write to thank you for the hard work carried out so far in our common bilateral activities as defined in our Memorandum of Understanding signed in December 2014. In particular, I would like to express my most sincere congratulations to the whole team of IIP-BIH for completing the integration of IIP-BIH designs into the DesignView on-line search tool on 12 June 2017.
Moreover, we acknowledge your valuable cooperation as a partner and would like to praise the great efficiency with which your Office has accomplished this important milestone.The visit from IIP-BIH IT experts that took place in May 2017 was most useful and facilitated the successful completion of the integration process. With this implementation, DesignView now features a total of 55 IP Offices, including EUIPO and WIPO, and with theaddition of designs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, DesignView now provides information and access to more than 10.4 million designs in total.”
Executive director Campinos also expresses hope for the continuation of cooperation with the Institute in the coming years and one of upcoming steps is completion of extension of EUIPN tools (HDB, DesignClass, Front Office and User Satisfaction Survey) to the BiH Institute for Intellectual Property.
