Info day for entrepreneurs in Trebinje

Trebinje, July 27, 2017 - Info day for entrepreneurs titled "Protection of Indications of Geographical Origin, Trademarks and Industrial Designs" was held in the premises of the City of Trebinje on Thursday, July 27 organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republika Srpska - Trebinje Regional Chamber and in cooperation with the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this occasion, importance of distinctive signs protection, as special part of intellectual property, was presented.

Attendees could find out how trademark protection of their products or services protects them from unauthorized use of identical or similar sign for competitive commodities and how trademark can be used as significant instrument in various business arrangements (investments, licenses, franchising, transfer of rights).

They were also informed how legal protection of indications of geographical origin contributes to market development of products and how an adequate system of protection of indications of geographical origin, which is compatible with European and world standards, represents a significant development potential.

There was talk of industrial design, and it was emphasized that industrial design protection is the most valuable market tool for manufacturer to protect his investment in development and production.

The lecturers at this event were Miroslav Marić and Goran Trifković, employees of the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
