Mostar: Seminar on the role of higher education institutions in the intellectual property system

 

Mostar, December 8, 2017 - Seminar entitled "Role of Higher Education Institutions in the Intellectual Property System and the Ways of Regulating Intellectual Property Rights" was held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in the premises of the Faculty of Information Technology of the University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar.

At the beginning of the seminar, welcome addresses to students and representatives of public higher education institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina were held by Josip Merdžo, Director of the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH, assistant professor Ph.D. Zanin Vejzović, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Ph.D. Elvir Zlomušica, Vice Rector for Science and Scientific Research at the University "Džemal Bijedić".

Within the thematic presentations, Dragana Marić Mešić, Patent Specialist from the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH spoke about the importance of defining intellectual property policy at universities and research and development institutions, Alen Dedović, senior advisor - patent examiner of the State Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Croatia presented methods and ways of protecting inventions in the field of information technology, whereas Srećko Rikalo, senior patent specialist and Spomenko Šego, patent specialist from the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH spoke about monitoring the state of the art in certain areas and searching databases.

At the end of the seminar, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions about the topics presented from the field of intellectual property.
