Ambassador Lucija Ljubić participated in the meeting of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

Mostar, April 16, 2018 - Ambassador Lucija Ljubić, Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mission to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, attended the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) meeting in Geneva on April 13, 2018 for the presentation of the "Intellectual Property Mechanism for Academic Institutions" (WIPO IP Toolkit for Academic Institutions), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.

While welcoming promotion of the Intellectual Property Mechanism for Academic Institutions, Ambassador Ljubić presented the challenges with which academic institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina are currently faced, such as defining legal framework for transfer of knowledge and technology, and highlighted the importance and the need to use research results for commercial purposes. She reminded that Bosnia and Herzegovina started cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization Office for Developed and Transition Countries in 2016, when two workshops with innovators in Mostar and Sarajevo were held.

Ambassador Ljubić informed participants of the meeting that in Mostar on April 20, 2018 a high-level meeting would be held with the rectors of all universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the World Intellectual Property Organization's "Mechanism for Academic Institutions" will be presented as an efficient means to support institutions in the formation of intellectual property policy.
